Yes, unfortunately "Paris, Tokyo" did flop. Just because the song got "Jam of the Week" doesn't mean that the song was a success.

The song selected as singles by Atlantic is abhorrent. "Hip Hop Saved My Life" followed by "Paris, Tokyo?" The two cheesiest song on the album Atlantic drops as singles? Come on!

Granted, "Hip Hop Saved My Life" was a decent (but cheesy) song. However, the only reason they drop this song as the single because Nikki Jean's popularity on YouTube overhyped the song's expectations.

"Streets on Fire," "Gold Watch," or "Go-Go Gadget Flow" would have been suffice singles to drop. My pick would have been "The Coolest."

Don't blame the radio for its lack of success. The song sucked! I, as a Lupe fan, tried to like that song. It never grew on me.

Okay..I'm not gonna read the OKP stuff cuz its already been established that most of them over there are haters anyway. BUT as another Lupe fan Paris, Tokyo did not suck. I didn't know songs were considered flops like that. Maybe everybody expected it to be another superstar. Maybe its because f'n MTV waited until it was out forever to make it Jam Of The week.

I do agree with the fact that Gold Watch or Go Go Gadget Flow should have come out [but thats only because i hate it when one of my favorite songs from the cds come out on the radio].

And I do partially blame the radio though because I barely heard it like that.

flop??? it just got realeased to MTV Jams. It aint even been sent to MTV or BET yet. How bout we give the single a few weeks after it premieres on TRL and 106 before we count it out. and it aint been sent to radio eirther. I remeber it toke a good month or two after Superstar got premiered on TRL before it blew up. Problem is fan are to jumpy and dont realise making a song popular is a process.

wow I guess I don't need to see hancock now. No offense or anything thought but the soulja boy defense does not work in every situation and I really wish people would stop with that shit its getting old.

To me I love Paris Tokyo but it's obvious that the world don't have my eyes so why I must put high expectations on something I know the world isn't use to right now. It didn't flop. What is flopping? Based of of how much it's played or demanded. There wasn't even enough promotion for it to have that 'superstar' potential. Patience y'all. Too me I think they brought Paris Tokyo out cause the fans personally liked it, not to please critics or sells or whatever.

The album overall was well received. That's what matters. But what do I know? Like I said before, I hope Lupe pulls a Kanye and does two video versions for Paris/Tokyo. If not, at least release "The die" or "Gold Watch" That would be awesome. I really love those songs. Love Paris/Tokyo too.....because it created a slight scandal. Some of Lupe's female fans know what I'm talking about!LOL.....huuuh :(

The album hasn't got much singles simple as,

"Gold Watch" could NEVER be a single 'cause it's full of street-wear/fashion references 90% of the public wont get.
