Fan Reviews: Lupe at Loyola College

Shout out to dude who wrote this review...he linked to us so Im going to return the favor and post his pretty dope review :)

"Now, to the audience: much pastier than I thought it would be, and full of Loyola college students who spent a lot of time talking on their cell phones on the floor. Apparently it was the fastest sellout in the history of Loyola concerts, but many apparently didn't know Lupe's music. It would be nice to see him in a venue where everyone loves his music like I do, or like a good portion of the crowd did, without being distracted by distracted college kids.

Most disappointing was the lack of an encore. The band stopped playing, and the crowd starting leaving. There were a few light attempts at chanting "Lupe! Lupe!", but the venue turned on the lights, and the show was done. It was a bummer, because if any show deserved and longed for an encore, it was this one. This is a kid with two albums, and I could list about five songs I didn't hear that I really wanted to (most notably "The Cool," "He Say, She Say," and "Little Weapon."

Still, damn, what a show. I'll remember this one forever. Let's hope he decides to keep performing after his long-announced "3 albums and I'm done" (which he repeated last night) goal."

Yeah I was there, I am a student at University of Maryland and drove the hour and paid the $30 to go. I was really disappointed that the show only consisted of about seven songs or so. I didn't hear American terrorist, switch, he say she say, or my brother's favorite 'gold watch.' It was obvious that a lot of people there didn't really know his music. At one point a group of girls next to me started speculating about when Superstar was going to come on. I did love Lupe's energy this was my first concert ever and I will stay tuned to see the next time Lupe is in the area because I want to see him perform more songs.

also wanted to add the shout out to Obama was awesome! However not surprisingly, as Lupe was talking about how America should WAKE THE FU*K UP! Most of the loyola students were being distracted by their cell phones. Go figure.

I was there too...that was my third Lupe show and it was good. He's an awesome performer but yeah I was disappointed at the length of his set and the crowd was really distracted. I was distracted in fact, since I was right in front and the "security" guards kept hopping up to tell people to put their cameras away. I don't think I'll be seeing Lupe at any more schools though. His performances at Sonar were great!

I didn't have a chance to make it to any of his shows during this last tour, but i saw him at the GITD tour. He was amazing!! He didn't have much time to do his thing, but in that short amount of time he made me love him even more.
Most people acted like they had no clue who he was, besides me and a handful of people. It's a shame how excited people were for Rihanna (who I CAN NOT STAND). Hope to see him live again!!

Was there, energy was crazy!! but set was too short... like less than 2 hours.. I remember when he came to my college 2 years ago.. . it was crazy.. he did like 8 or 9 songs from F&L and probably another 10 from his mixtapes.. If you read this Lu, why aint u performing "American Terrorist" and "Hurt Me Soul" no more ?

Can someone elaborate on the urine situation that KayCee spoke of? What kind of neanderthals were in attendance to do some abominable crap like that?!...

I'm also a University of Maryland student and was more than happy to pay for the ticket and make the drive to see Lupe. I went with 4 other guys from UMD and the show was fantastic! He put so much energy into all of it, never backing down from 110%, that every song was a treasure. I'm happy to have heard him at all, let alone 7 songs.

the crowd definitely could've been better, a bunch of drunk kids, only half of whom really knew the music. but Lupe made up for it, no question.

I really hope he comes to UMD. if anyone thought the loyola crowd was good, UMD will top it many times over, no question.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that felt that I was a chaperone.

The crowd was ridiculous. Thank goodness the show was AMAZING. It seems that he "catered" to the crowd with his song selection. Nevertheless, the band was great and the energy was insane. I cannot wait to see him again at an adult venue where he will be more appreciated.

GR8 GRATE GREAT, The Show was awesome. I've been to many hip-hop shows and this one is seriously f*cking with the Jay-Z at the RAMS HEAD Live concert last year (The two best shows ever). But, Lupe's energy was crazy and that made me enjoy it even more. It was worth way more than $30, even if he would have only done 5 songs. I could tell that the crowd wasn't really down with the FNF movement, but it's all good...I really want to go to the College Park show...can sombody give me a ride, (I'll buy your ticket)...lol...no, but I'm serious though. FNF UP ALL DAY...YA DIGG

Lupe was AMAZING! I loved it and he did give 110% for sure. I wish he would have done more songs, but I'd say the same thing even if had done 15. I drove 10 hours to see the show and waited in line for three hours. It was worth it all. I was in the front row and loved it. The security guards were hella annoying but whatever; I just did my best to block him out and focus on my Lu. I LOVE YOU LUPE!!! I will most definately be going to more of his concerts. OMG way too much fun!
